RIQ (TAMBOURINE) WORKSHOP

For all levels. Learn the basic holding technique to acquire the best sounds from your Riq. Like the drum, Ramzi covers the basics of the Middle Eastern polyrhythmic structures for the Riq (Tambourine), focusing on North African and Arab rhythms. Each workshop reviews the basic rhythms introduced from earlier workshops with new variations for more experienced Riq players. This workshop started as an additional one hour of practice before our regular drum workshop because the Riq is used alongside the drum in Mid-East music.
